Visit from superheroes!

Image
As part of our ‘people who help us’ topic, our F2 and F1 children enjoyed a visit from our local firefighters.  The firefighters told us all about the special jobs they do to keep us safe, and taught us about all the things we can do to take care of ourselves- including listening to our fire/smoke alarms, not playing on ice and keeping away from fires.  The children also got to explore the fire engine, and have a go at spraying the hose! A big thank you to our local fire department for coming to visit us. The children had an amazing time and lots of them have decided that they would like to be a fire fighter when they grow up.

Snow fun!

In November, we were lucky enough to have some snow.  Thanks to our set of school puddle suits and wellies, the children enjoyed some time in the afternoon exploring our snowy school field. We made snow angels, rolled giant snowballs and did some snow dancing!  It was smiles all round, from children and staff!

Our First Half Term

Welcome to Starlight Class! This first half term has been filled with getting to know our new lovely reception children.  The children have enjoyed exploring their new classroom, making friends, and learning lots of new things. Together, we have been working towards mastering lots of new skills, including zipping up our own coats! Lots of the children have been working together to achieve this, lending a helping hand when their friends are struggling. We have also been working hard with our academic learning, particularly in maths where one thing we have been working on is making repeating patterns! The children have loved doing this with lots of different resources, and through actions such as clapping, stomping our feet, and jumping.
